CORNWALL, Ontario – They’re calling it a Crooked Christmas Market – but there’s nothing untoward happening at this downtown fundraiser.

The Crooked Christmas Market will take place at The Crooked CASHÉ, 113 ½ Pitt Street on Dec. 3 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The event will include as many as 20 local vendors selling an array of items that would make an excellent Christmas gift.

There will also be a wrapping station, manned by Cornwall Community Cheer, and (wait for it…) carriage rides!

That’s right, organizers of the Crooked Christmas Market are in talks to include a horse-drawn sleigh ride the day of the event. Sleighs are tentatively scheduled to take place along a path that includes Pitt Street, First Street, Sydney Street and Third Street.

“We want people to come together in one place to get all their Christmas shopping done, and it’s for a good cause,” said Shannon Ferguson, one of the organizers of the event.

The event will benefit Rachel’s Kids in Cornwall. Donations of clothes or food will gain you access to the market, but an entry fee of $2 is also being accepted.

Beverages for both adults and children will be sold at the event. For more information check out the Crooked Christmas Market Facebook page.
