CORNWALL, Ontario – Hear that? It’s the sound of the Santa Claus Parade, which is coming to downtown Cornwall this Saturday.

The family-friendly parade, which will wind its way down Second Street in Cornwall beginning at 5 p.m., is the unofficial kickoff to the holiday season here in the Seaway City and is also a big draw for downtown merchants. As many as 50 parade floats have registered for the event.

The parade is expected to reach the downtown area by about 6 p.m. The parade route continues on Second Street West to Augustus Street before turning south to Water Street and ending at the Cornwall Civic Complex.

Pommier Jewellers will help celebrate Santa’s arrival. On parade day they will offer photos with Santa. Then they will have a DJ with a cosmic light show and dancing and a special gift for the first 200 children until parade time. Make sure to stop by Pommier Square for plenty of fun.

Love Love Food is offering free hot chocolate for parade watchers and other select downtown merchants are sure to be offering specials too – so make sure you take a walk downtown just before, and after, the parade to check out all our district has to offer.
