A new downtown business is hoping to help its clients cope with often debilitating conditions.
Bodystream, a medical marijuana service, held its grand opening Jan. 31 at its 220 Pitt Street location.
Bodystream, which has 20 locations throughout the province, does not house marijuana on site, but instead its staff assists patients in obtaining appointments with licensed in-house physicians. A doctor determines if medical marijuana is a suitable treatment option for the patient, who is then guided through the process of filling out documents and finding a licensed producer.
Medical marijuana is then delivered right to the home of the patient.
“We also provide patients with a thorough education process on how to take their medication,” said Christine Thauvette, the Cornwall clinic supervisor. “Medical marijuana is gaining in popularity as an alternative approach in treating a wide range of disorders. There is a long list of conditions being treated with medical marijuana, from chronic pain to Irritable Bowel Syndrome.”
