New historic banners being placed in vacant window-fronts

CORNWALL, Ontario – A splash of colour is being added to downtown, thanks to a new program being rolled out by the DBIA.

The Downtown Business Improvement Area has purchased new banners that are being placed in vacant window-fronts within the DBIA to help add some colour while at the same time honouring our past.

The banners depict different aspects of Cornwall’s history, based on the walking tour plaques that were unveiled downtown in the summer of 2017.

“We’ve already started to place the banners in vacant window-fronts downtown and more of the same will be taking place over the next few weeks,” said Centretown Coordinator Todd Lihou. “The new banners have been warmly received by downtown landlords and I am looking forward to seeing the reaction from other business owners and pedestrians when they see the banners.”
