CORNWALL, Ontario – Crafters, artisans and ‘makers’ are showing their wares at a new location downtown that is steeped in local flavour.

The Maker Gift Shop at HF Group Media, located at 145 Pitt Street, has opened its doors and is offering everything from home gift items to skin care products, art work, bath bombs and everything in between.

It’s all locally-produced and it’s also just in time for holiday shopping.

“There’s literally something for everyone,” said Jessica Campbell, of Campbell Creative, which has space rented at the facility. “We had the space, and being from design background it’s always been about what’s next? We knew this would do very well. We have the space and the location.”

Ten makers have already signed up to rent a space and show off their products. Campbell said more are always welcome to submit an application.

“Our mission is to support makers by creating the opportunity to showcase their work,” Sylvie Legault-Boucher, owner of HF Group Media.

The Maker Gift Shop is being staffed by volunteers, and hours of operation will be posted regularly to its Facebook page. To get more information on submitting an application to sell materials, send a message to the Facebook page.

Nov. 18 the Maker Gift Shop will hold its grand opening at noon.
