CORNWALL, Ontario – It’s a pop-up shop with a plan for investing in downtown Cornwall for the long haul.

Twenty-four year old Sarah Seguin has opened Be Rare, a pop-up shop that is located within Life’s Little Pleasures at 108 Pitt Street, that specializes in high-end women’s apparel focusing on the summer season.

And despite the fact that it’s still early days, Seguin said she’s already considering a move to a more permanent location, and expanded footprint and the long-term goal of remaining a popular downtown women’s clothing store for years to come.

“I realized what’s the point of only being open for two months? And because of the buzz and feedback from people…we need something more long-term. If this continues to be a success we’re going to look for something more permanent,” she said. “We have quality women’s clothing for the summer, and we want to carry it on into the fall. We saw a market that wasn’t being catered to, and it has exploded.”

Indeed. Social media impressions for Be Rare are already measured into the tens of thousands and the pop-up shop has barely got its feet under it at this point.

“I’ve always been driven and interested in business and I realized when I came home from school…there were few places to find women’s clothing of quality for younger people. We’re looking to address a younger market that has gone untapped,” said Seguin. “We strive to provide women with a fashion-forward selection of clothing and swimwear to help them express themselves, while staying true to who they are. We want you to be rare and be you.”
